The Active Citizens Fund – National programme is a support programme for social organisations financed by the EEA Financial Mechanism, i.e. the EEA Grants. The aim of the programme is to strengthen the civil society and active citizenship as well as to empower groups threatened with exclusion.
The Stonewall Group applied for funding in the first call for thematic projects and was awarded a € 67,500 grant to provide psychological and legal help to LGBT+ people. The money helps us in the following way:
Firstly, we use it to pay for the psychological help for LGBT+ people and their families. Thanks to the grant, we can offer you:
- individual psychological consultations
- participation in the “HANGAR” group for young people
- participation in the “KOKON” group for trans and nonbinary people
- participation in the group for parents and families of LGBT+ people
More information about the available help can be found in the “SUPPORT” tab.
Secondly, we can offer you free legal consultations. Help is available for natural persons from the LGBT+ community who experience legal problems connected with their non-heteronormativity. To get legal help from us, please contact us via e-mail and describe your problem. In response, our lawyer will then inform you if we are able to help and what the next steps are in this particular situation.

Thirdly, the funding from the Active Citizens programme allows us to employ one person on a full-time basis at the association. Thanks to this, we can further professionalise and develop our organisation.
